It's a breathtaking design for a brides cake that incorporates spherical cakes, gumpaste and fondant flowers, swags, stripes and other creative accents as well as unique sugar topper. Additionally, create a variety of fondant/gumpaste embellishments, take notes on some new painting tips and learn how to extend the original design.

Use some creativity, add some sugar, some embellishments, and your charm to see a captivating final creation. We'll have lots of fun and best of all, you will take home the knowledge of creating this beautiful cake and the know-how and confidence to try different ideas when making your own creations.

Gumpaste, small vinyl mats, pins, some Cricut Cake Machines and Cricut Cuttlebusgs, cartridges, and embossing mats.

Students Need to bring: 10 pounds colored fondant(studentschoice),6” Dummy,8” Dummy, 10” Dummy,  rope or pearl molds for borders, gumpaste tools, large plastic mat for rolling out fondant, fondant smoother, large and small rolling pins, cornstarch in stocking, paint brushes, 1 cup piping jel, 1 cup shortening and gumpaste flowers if you want, (3) 14” double wall round boards taped together and covered in white/ivory/silver foil to secure the brides cake to and a foil board with bakery box for bow loops if you want to take it home instead of putting it on the cake.   Extension cords

Class being taught: Class on “Cricut” Personal Cutter for cake decorating:

Come on and see what's up with this new bug, "The Cricut".    Learn to take your first steps with the Cricut machine in this class using the "Storybook" cartridge.  Incorporate the Cricut designs with elegant molds and you will have a new eye catching  design.   Students will cover  a  6" Round,  8" Round, and 10" Round cake dummies in fondant.  The completed cake will leave you so excited!  Some  Cricut machines will be available for use in class but it is recommended that if you have a Cricut machine and the Cricut Design Studio software to please bring it to class along with your laptop computer.  Students will also be provided the opportunity to use the Cricut Cuttlebug to make a beautiful double embossed bow and see first hand the potential available by using the Cricut Cake machine(arched panels, intricate designs, flowers and layered appliqués). The possibilities are almost endless with this new method of decorating cakes.

Diamonds, Pearls, and Fantasy Birds - The students will cover an 8” dummy in fondant.  They will use diamond markers to impress patterns on the sides of the cake.  Pearl accents will be added using royal icing.  The cake will be trimmed with pearls made using a pearl mold.  The fantasy birds will be hand molded using a gumpaste/fondant mixture.  Feathers will be either cut out and individually veined using a leaf cutter or molded using various leaf molds.  The birds will be placed on top of the cake.

In this two day class you will learn how to make Martha and Becky's great sphere wedding cake. Once you learn how the Sweet Southern Ladies carve/cover this cake you will gain the confidence to make any ball cake.

Supply list will be sent along to the location of the class once payment has been received. Students will be working and covering dummies.
